Hi Huey. You made me laugh… but none of this is funny and then you made me cry at the end. I’m worried for you.

I think novelist Stephen King has come closest to depicting the sort of monster that has risen in America which has supernatural elements in addition to the usual traits. I’m very afraid of this cult. I live among them in Alabama and the hard shell is impenetrable, protected 24/7 by FoxNews and malevolent preachers on Sunday.

People keep saying the cult will turn when things really start hurting… I doubt it. The crackpot religionists among its leadership are stoking combat & martyrdom. And also “purification” of the national bloodstream. Re-watch Hellboy… it’s a very good parable.

I heard Nicolle Wallace say we need a “moonshot” approach to dealing with this menace. She’s not wrong!

People moved to Canada years ago Instead of the USA because of the possibility Trump would be elected again. Enough Americans laughed at them for being anxious at the time...

The sheer level of adoration is rare. Turkmenabashi comes to mind as a possible other example, and he's been dead for years.

Isn’t AI making inroads here. Peter Theil bankrolled JD Vance and they both follow a bizarre guy Curtis Yarvin. It’s science fiction mixed with super hero comics and this guy has created this vision that’s a strong influence in both Theil and Vance’s outlook that to me seems like nihilism. How democratic process has been usurped would seem to fit into this and the attempt being made to deregulate AI sounds like a plan. Is Trump the patsy? In exchange he gets the adulation he so craves. These are the questions I wonder about.

It takes humans from other parts of Earth, surviving dictatorship and authoritarianism, to point out to Americans that, “guys, you are minimizing what’s happening” due to psychological denial/self preservation and cognitive dissonance. If Americans were watching this happen overseas, it would be much clearer to them. It’s Loss Aversion, preventing many people from taking the risk of speaking up/protesting. And it’s the delusion that, “This happens in Russia, Turkey, Hungary, India, China, N Korea, BUT NOT here.” Sorry, America, but ya need to wake up because it’s happening HERE.

It is a strange form of secularized theocracy—not in the sense that the government is run by religious elite, but rather that members of the cult believe themselves to be guided by a deity. In the case of the Evangelicals, it is not even a secular version of theocracy—Trump is actually said to have been sent by God. As a theocratic system, they are moving to collapse the separation of church and state. All of this is symbolized by the insistence on displaying the 10 Commandments in public spaces, especially schools.

Spot On. We are under the biggest threat since WWII. He is putting people in concentration camps. If you send someone to prison for life without impunity. That’s Hitler Shit. Dragging people off the street in covered faces, no warrant, no proof of Identification. This is sickening. This will not end well. The GOP is drunk with power.

I actually feel very similar. I share my thoughts on my porch and occasionally in writing. I am trying to build a consensus to reclaim our country.

It is scary - I have severe health issues and am on social security disability. They could end my benefits and leave me without any income. I think they would prefer the power of slow starvation to disappearing me.

I think he's basically modeled his system after a Hollywood mafia state.

Sadly, it's much worse do to the American media's worship for anti-heroes, gunmen, and crime bosses, combined with it's contempt for "normies" and "Boy-Scouts."

Just watch the Republican Party's primaries. They have gone from counter-culture to asshole contests.
